Every price is fixed ahead of the work, and you can read who we are before you book.

One Build Program, One Plumbing Pattern

The whole suburb shares a plumbing birthday

The Housing Commission started building here in 1949 and sewered the entire grid in the same few years, so every clay line under these streets is the same age. When that generation of pipe starts to fail, it fails on its own schedule, and the fix depends on where your house sits in the sequence.

The ground moves, and the pipes move with it

Underneath is reactive clay sitting on shale. It puffs up after rain and shrinks back in a dry spell. Old clay joints open with the movement, and storm rain finds every gap the ground has made.

The water services rust from the inside

The earliest commission homes were given galvanised steel water services, and one still in the ground is largely rust by now. The tell is a shower that slows to a trickle whatever head you fit, because the problem is behind the wall, not on it.

How the Price Gets Set

That matters most on older housing, where a job can grow once floors or walls come up, and a surprise from a pipe nobody could see should never land on you.

It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours).

What shifts the figure before we name it:

  • Access Reaching a pipe under an older fibro house takes longer than the same job in newer stock.
  • Pipe material Cutting into galvanised steel or aged earthenware is a different job to copper or PVC.
  • Parts What the fix needs, from a valve to a full tank, is listed in the quote.
  • After-hours Evening and weekend work is dearer, and that rate is part of the phone conversation.

When we're not the right call: a cracked slab, a sagging floor or a leaning retaining wall around a pipe needs a builder first, and we come back for the plumbing once the structure is sound.

Your Call, Step by Step

  1. 1

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4915 2998 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 2

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 3

The right fix for the pipes you have

The plumber clears, repairs or installs to match the plumbing era the house actually carries, then cleans up before leaving.

  4. 4

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

Hot Water, Tenancies and the Cold Morning

Tanks in rental stock fail first and get fixed after

At the last census, outright ownership sat at 7.5 per cent, so plumbing decisions in this suburb run through an agent or a housing provider. Cold showers arrive without notice, so a temporary hot water tank bridges the wait for the new system.

The swap is a chance to change systems

Area installation figures record 120 heat pump units and 108 solar hot water units fitted across the district, so the move off entry-level electric tanks is well underway. The heat pump page runs through when that switch pays off in housing like this.

Questions Windale Households Ask

Is there a call-out fee for Windale jobs?

It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours). After a look at the fault, the plumber gives you a fixed figure, and no work begins until you say yes to it.

How quickly can you get here?

Available 24/7. When you ring, we ask what the fault looks like so the van arrives with the right gear, then the visit is booked around how urgent the job is. Water coming through a ceiling or a sewer overflowing inside is treated as urgent.

Can you clear tree roots from an old clay sewer?

Yes. The clay sewers here all went in during the same postwar building program, and roots work into the joints as the lines age. We trim out the roots, then film the pipe to prove water runs freely, and reline badly cracked sections instead of digging up the yard.

My hot water has gone cold overnight. Repair or replace?

It depends on the fault and the tank, and the repair-or-replace call is set out on the hot water page. If the unit is past saving, a temporary hot water tank keeps the hot taps running while the new system is sorted.

Do you work with tenants and property managers?

Yes. The tenant is rung to set a time, then gets a confirmation and a text before the plumber pulls up. Once the work is done, the landlord or managing agent gets a detailed invoice with photos attached, so the file is complete without anyone chasing.

Which suburbs do you cover besides Windale?

Gateshead, Bennetts Green, Jewells, Tingira Heights and Mount Hutton are all covered, each with its own page here. If your address sits outside those five, ring anyway and we can check whether it falls on our run.
